Why I'm Building This Blog

Let me start with the positioning, because every other blog skips this and you end up scrolling through 12 paragraphs of life story before figuring out if the writing is for you.

Who this is for

I'm writing for engineers who sit at the same intersection I do:

• You've shipped enterprise systems that other teams extend — not throwaway prototypes.
• You're now actively building with LLMs, agents, and RAG — not just reading about it on Twitter.
• You want numbers, trade-offs, and war stories. Not "5 ways to improve RAG" listicles written by someone who never ran a retrieval eval.

If that's you, you're the target reader. If not, that's fine — unsubscribe whenever, no hard feelings.

What I'll write about (four pillars, weekly rotation)

I'm rotating through four content pillars so posts don't feel random:

1. Build logs — what I shipped this week on a real project, with numbers.
2. Deep dives — one technical concept, explained end to end.
3. Career / industry notes — Singapore market observations, hiring insights, lessons from client work.
4. Migration / infra posts — when I move something from one place to another, you'll get the write-up.

Post cadence: every Monday, published at 08:00 SGT.

Why now

I've been writing on LinkedIn for about a year. The reach is great, the format is not. There's no good way to publish a 2,500-word deep dive on chunking strategies when the comment section is optimized for "great post Rehan!" and the algorithm punishes posts longer than ~600 words.

I also want a home that I own. LinkedIn could tank reach tomorrow. Vercel + a domain is ~$10/year. That math is easy.

What I won't do

• No AI-generated filler. Every word is written by me.
• No gated "newsletter exclusive" content. If it's worth writing, it goes on the blog for free.
• No sponsored posts, no affiliate links that aren't marked. This is not a monetization play.
• No "follow me for more content!" at the end of every post. If you like what you read, you will.
